Once Chance for Sunset

Careful planning was required to make this stunning sunset photograph of Amanda and Jason at the Hotel Domestique in Travelers Rest, SC. It required scouting the location and doing test shots earlier in the week, understanding that the sun would disappear below the mountains earlier than the actual sunset and getting the bride and groom in place on time. They were super cooperative, playful and so in love. I just wanted them to play and not overly pose them. I love how the final image came out and most importantly so did the bride and groom!

You Can't Control The Weather

July 17, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

When the weather gets bad, I keep shooting! While at Bald Rock I noticed bad weather moving in. This is a 3 second exposure capturing lightning strikes over Greenville, SC. The foreground shows graffiti lit with my flashlight. While I am not a fan of graffiti in natural settings, my goal was to make something beautiful with things I can't control. Shot in total darkness, the light is gathered by the long exposure, and my wide angle lens help to keep focus near and far. Looking closely at the middle horizon near the tree line you see Table Rock as well as Pinnacle Mountain the highest mountain in South Carolina.

A few of my recent photographs that I am passionate about!
